Jackie is a 500-hour senior yoga teacher with over 15 years of experience running successful wellbeing centers. Her journey into wellbeing followed a career in the television industry, where she worked as an Executive Producer. In 2024, Jackie graduated with distinction from the prestigious University of East Anglia, earning an MA in Global Social Development.
Jackie’s teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in honouring the traditional practices of the Far East while integrating the Western lens of science and reason. She believes in respecting the origins of yoga transparently and authentically while adapting its teachings to be meaningful and practical in our modern, daily lives.
As the founder of Freedom Wellbeing Projects, a Community Interest Company (not-for-profit), Jackie is committed to delivering free yoga and wellbeing services to vulnerable communities. The organisation’s latest initiative, Yoga in Action, continues this mission, aiming to expand access to yoga and set up pathways for promoting social wellbeing on an international scale.
Jackie’s passion lies in empowering others—whether through asana practice, community projects, or academic insight—to embrace the transformative power of yoga in a way that resonates with their unique journey and circumstances.
Our mission is to guide you toward becoming the yoga practitioner or teacher you truly aspire to be. Whether your focus is on deepening your asana practice, exploring yoga therapy for mental health, or connecting with ceremony and the subtle body, our training is uniquely tailored to honour your individuality. We’re not here to produce one-size-fits-all graduates who follow one rigid discipline; we’re here to nurture your journey, empowering you to embody the practice or teaching style that aligns with your authentic self.
Yantra Studio
Our trainings take place at Yantra Studios, a beautiful and welcoming space located in the heart of Norwich. This independent studio, housed in a charming listed building, is filled with natural light and retains its stunning original period features, creating a warm and inspiring environment for learning.
Yantra Studios provides an ideal setting for trainees to immerse themselves in their yoga journey, surrounded by a vibrant community of teachers and a diverse range of classes to complement their training. It’s more than a venue—it’s a space to grow, connect, and thrive in the heart of Norwich’s yoga community.
“My 200hr YTT with Jackie has been incredible. She provides such a wealth of in-depth teachings and background knowledge which have helped me to develop. Her enthusiasm for yoga (and life in general) is infectious! The course is delivered in a broad range of formats (including group work, teaching practice, studying of yogic texts and general discussion) which makes it really engaging. I have genuinely looked forward to every teacher training weekend and am sad when they come to an end. With Jackie’s guidance my personal practice has deepened greatly during the training and yoga has more profound influence on my everyday life”

About Jackie
✺
Education
A first-class English Literature and Sociology graduate, an MA scholar with distinction at the prestigious UEA, with rooting’s also in psychology, and biology, Jackie has always found the relationship between art and science, content and form, breath and body, yin and yang, interesting and invaluable – with a tendency to explore the spaces in-between, to find and inhabit the connection, the yoke.
Current projects
2017 saw the launch of the specialised yoga teacher training school ZenMuma and ZenKids, 2020 saw the loving nurture and launch of Freedom Yoga and Retreats and the 200 Yoga Teacher Training. 2022 saw the launch of the social enterprise company called Freedom Wellbeing Project where we take classes to the community in need.
Jackie also serves as a consultant for businesses setting up wellbeing and yoga companies, centres and retreats. She writes for OM magazine and has appeared in various media articles and is often found at public speaking events and on Radio.
When people speak of Jackie they use words like humanness, approachable, community, knowledgeable, abundant.
Early career
Jackie spent 11 years working in TV as an executive, when she decided in 2009 to feed her soul and take her attentions to matters of – health, wellbeing, education and connectivity.
After consistently training from 2009 with many healers and thought leaders, Jackie placed herself into service by setting up and launching the award winning The Orange Grove complementary health care centre, and taught 6-8 classes of yoga a week for many years.
Jackie started teaching yoga retreats in Asia and Europe in 2016, supporting those looking for transformation and a sense of freedom within themselves.
A unique approach
Jackie teaches the eight limbs of yoga, with an emphasis on meditation, and the witnessing of what it means to be human. She believes in yoga on, and off, the mat and teaches thorough, mindful and traditional Hatha.
Each posture is carefully deconstructed, taught and embodied in our teachings so you feel totally confident, ready and able to teach each asana after you have completed your training. Peer teaching has an emphasis, rather than using a ‘banking’ style of teaching, Jackie uses dialogic teaching. Yoga theory encapsulates the study experience and enables holistic teaching of interesting and engaging classes, true to the fundamental spirit of yoga practise and journey.
“Yoga is my ultimate therapy, my peace, my comfort, my saviour. It has been with me throughout, and is deeply rooted as part of life. It just is. If I need answers, I ask yoga. My only aim is to share this love in yoga with others and to help assist the source of where to find it. The beauty of sharing this understanding and knowledge of where to source it is, in itself, happiness.”
Jackie
