Week 2
Co-hosted by Tara Bishybee
14th-21st February 2027
About co-host Tara
Tara’s work is rooted in movement, breath, touch and the natural rhythms that have guided her through the most challenging chapters of her life. She teaches and offers bodywork because these practices supported her when she needed grounding, compassion and strength — and she loves to share that same steadying presence with others.
Yoga, mobility and functional movement have been part of her life for more than sixteen years. They became especially important during periods of injury recovery and throughout a long season of caring for her family through illness, Alzheimer’s and mental health struggles. Movement gave her structure when everything felt uncertain; breath gave her space when emotions felt heavy; stillness helped her listen inwardly when I couldn’t find the words.
These experiences shaped who she is as a teacher: grounded, nurturing, intuitive and deeply compassionate.

Your 8-Day Journey
Day 1 - Phuket
Arrive at Proud Phuket by 5pm, settle into your private room and meet the group before a relaxed sunset dinner at Nai Yang Beach.
A gentle first evening to put names to faces, eat good food and settle into Thailand together.
Day 2 - Koh Lanta
After breakfast, we’ll leave Phuket and travel south together to Koh Lanta.
Settle into your accommodation, unpack, explore your surroundings, take a swim or simply relax after the journey before coming back together for dinner.
Day 3 - Beach, Massage + Opening Ceremony
Our first full day on Koh Lanta is intentionally slow.
We will open with practise on the beach, followed by a tasty breakfast.
Spend time by the beach, swim, read, wander or do very little at all, with an included traditional Thai massage by the sea.
Later, we’ll come together for our opening ceremony- a relaxed chance to properly arrive, get to know one another and set the tone for the adventure ahead.
Optional meditation and philosophy will be woven into the week for anyone who wants to join.
Day 4 - 4 Island Boat Tour
Today we head out onto the Andaman Sea for a full-day 4 Island boat adventure after our beach practise and nutritious breakfast.
Expect turquoise water, incredible island scenery, swimming, beaches and plenty of time out on the open water.
A proper Thailand adventure day.
Day 5 - Island Life
Today is about seeing another side of Koh Lanta.
After morning practise on the beach, we’ll explore the characterful streets of Koh Lanta Old Town, with time to wander, browse, eat and soak up the slower rhythm of island life.
Then we’ll head into Mu Ko Lanta National Park for a gentle hike - nothing crazy, just enough to stretch the legs and explore the jungle, coastline and beautiful scenery.
Day 6 - Bamboo Beach + Closing Ceremony
For our final full day on Koh Lanta, we’ll travel by traditional local songthaew to beautiful Bamboo Beach.
Swim, relax, explore, read, chat or simply enjoy a full day with nowhere else to be.
Later, we’ll gather for our closing ceremony- a chance to look back on the week, the places we’ve explored, the friendships made and everything we’re taking away from the experience.
Day 7 - Back to Phuket
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to Koh Lanta and travel back to Phuket together.
Our final night is spent back at the beautiful Proud Phuket, where you’ll have time to relax, enjoy the pool and settle in before we come together for one final beachside dinner at sunset.
A pretty perfect way to finish.
Day 8 - Departure
We’ll share breakfast together before check-out and goodbyes.
Then it’s time to head home- hopefully with a camera roll full of Thailand, a few very good stories and a group of people who definitely weren’t strangers eight days ago.
Where You’ll Stay
The journey starts and finishes in Phuket, with the heart of the week spent on Koh Lanta- an island of long beaches, lush national park, local communities and plenty of space to explore.
Throughout the trip, you’ll have your own private, air-conditioned accommodation, so you get all the fun and connection of travelling with a group without giving up your own space.
Your first and final nights will be spent at Proud Phuket, close to Nai Yang Beach, before travelling together to and from Koh Lanta.
Food
Expect fresh, colourful and seriously tasty Thai food throughout the week- relaxed breakfasts, local lunches and flavour-packed dinners.
Some meals will be part of our planned days out, while at other times you’ll have the freedom to choose where and what you fancy eating.

Week 1
Seeking Paradise: Thailand
7 – 14 February 2027 · Phuket + Koh Yao Noi
£1,400 per person · 20 places · Private air-conditioned accommodation
There are some places that make it easier to slow down.
Koh Yao Noi is one of them.
For eight days, we’ll step away from the pace of everyday life and into a gentler rhythm of yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, sea swims, massage, island adventures and space to simply be.
Seeking Paradise isn’t about filling every hour.
It’s about waking with the island, practising with intention, eating together, exploring somewhere extraordinary and creating enough quiet to notice what happens when there’s finally a little less noise.
Our home for the week is peaceful Koh Yao Noi, tucked between Phuket and Krabi in the Andaman Sea, surrounded by limestone islands, warm water and lush tropical landscape.
There will be movement, adventure and plenty of laughter, but also space for reflection, philosophy, meditation and those slower conversations that rarely happen when life is moving at full speed.
Led by Jax, founder of Freedom Yoga & Retreats and a yoga teacher of almost 20 years, with the travel, accommodation and experiences taken care of once the retreat begins.
Come for Thailand. Leave having found a little more space within yourself too.
What to Expect
A retreat that brings together practice, spirituality, rest and adventure:
Yoga and mindful movement
Dawn Tai Chi
Meditation and guided relaxation
Yoga philosophy and space for reflection
Traditional Thai massage on the beach
Longtail boat adventure through the Andaman Sea
Swimming in turquoise waters
Guided kayaking through mangroves
Traditional Thai batik workshop
Beautiful shared meals
Time to read, swim, journal, nap or simply do nothing
Opening and closing practices
A slower rhythm of island life
You don’t need to be an experienced yogi.
The practices are there to meet you where you are- whether yoga is already an important part of your life or you simply feel ready to explore it a little more deeply.
Your 8-Day Journey
Day 1 — Land Softly in Phuket
Arrive in beautiful Phuket and settle into our luxury hotel before meeting the group at 5pm.
That evening, we’ll wander down to Nai Yang Beach for our first dinner together beside the sea.
Nothing complicated. Just good food, sunset, introductions and the feeling that the week has officially begun.
Day 2 — Journey to Koh Yao Noi
After breakfast together, we’ll begin the journey to Koh Yao Noi, travelling by taxi and boat across the beautiful waters of Phang Nga Bay.
Ying and the team will be waiting to welcome us when we arrive.
The afternoon is deliberately unhurried- unpack, swim, rest, explore your surroundings or simply sit and take in where you are.
Later, we’ll come together for our first island practice followed by dinner overlooking the sea.
Day 3 — Your Exhale Day
This is where the retreat rhythm really begins.
Wake with dawn Tai Chi, followed by a morning yoga practice before a slow day with nowhere you particularly need to be.
Swim. Read. Journal. Nap.
You’ll also enjoy an included traditional Thai massage on the beach.
As sunset approaches, we’ll gather for dinner at the beautiful Treetops restaurant overlooking the bay, before gently closing the day with meditation or a guided wind-down practice.
A day to stop doing quite so much and simply arrive.
Day 4 — 4 Island Boat Day
After Tai Chi and morning practice, we head out onto the Andaman Sea aboard a traditional longtail boat.
We’ll spend the day travelling through a spectacular marine national park, exploring limestone islands, beaches and impossibly clear water.
There’ll be time to swim, explore and take everything in without rushing from one place to the next.
Then it’s back to Koh Yao Noi for dinner and a slower evening.
Paradise, in the most literal sense!
Day 5 — Kayaks + Mangroves
We begin with our usual morning practice before heading into the mangroves for a completely different perspective on island life.
With a local guide, we’ll kayak through peaceful waterways and canyon-like landscapes, surrounded by nature.
It’s adventure, but the quiet kind.
Back on Koh Yao Noi, the afternoon is yours to rest before we gather again for a gentler evening practice- loosening the body, settling the nervous system and giving everything from the day somewhere to land.
Day 6 — Batik + Closing Practice
Our final full day on Koh Yao Noi begins with dawn Tai Chi and morning yoga.
Later, we’ll head to the island pier for a traditional Thai batik workshop, guided by local craftspeople and overlooking the sea.
It’s a chance to slow down, make something with your hands and learn about a creative tradition rooted in this part of Thailand.
Back at the retreat, we’ll gather for our final yoga practice and closing circle.
An evening for reflection, gratitude, conversation and celebrating everything the week has held.
Day 7 — Back to Phuket
There’ll be optional dawn Tai Chi for anyone who wants one final early morning together.
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to Koh Yao Noi and make our way back across the water to Phuket.
The afternoon is free to relax by the pool, wander, eat, read or do absolutely nothing.
That evening, we’ll meet one final time for a farewell dinner on the beach at sunset.
One last table. One last Thai sunset. And probably a lot to talk about.
Day 8 — Departure
We’ll share breakfast together before check-out and the official close of the retreat.
Then it’s time for the journey home.
Not with a promise that eight days will somehow change everything — but perhaps with a quieter mind, a few practices worth keeping, new connections and a clearer sense of what you want to make more space for when you get back.
The Practice
Yoga sits at the heart of Seeking Paradise.
Throughout the week, Jax will guide a mixture of yoga, mindful movement, meditation, relaxation and philosophy, with the style and intensity changing depending on the rhythm of each day.
Some mornings will begin quietly with dawn Tai Chi. Others will move into a fuller physical practice.
Evening sessions might be slower- stretching tired bodies after an adventure, guided meditation, breathwork, yoga philosophy or simply creating space to reflect on the day.
There’s no expectation to perform, achieve or arrive with years of yoga experience behind you.
The invitation is simply to practise, stay curious and see what comes up when you give yourself the time.
Why Koh Yao Noi?
Sitting quietly in Phang Nga Bay between Phuket and Krabi, Koh Yao Noi feels a world away from Thailand’s busier tourist centres.
Life moves more slowly here. There are fishing villages, rubber plantations, jungle, beaches and views across huge limestone karsts rising from the Andaman Sea.
It gives us the best of both worlds: somewhere peaceful enough to properly retreat, but surrounded by extraordinary places to explore.
Our days move between practice and adventure, stillness and swimming, reflection and shared dinners.
Exactly the balance Seeking Paradise was created for.
Where You’ll Stay
The retreat begins and finishes in Phuket, with the heart of the week spent on Koh Yao Noi.
On the island, you’ll stay in simple, comfortable, private air-conditioned accommodation, surrounded by tropical nature and close to the sea.
You have your own space to retreat to whenever you need it, while practices, meals and experiences bring the group together throughout the week.
It’s not about polished five-star luxury.
The luxury here is waking somewhere beautiful, having nowhere to rush to and being able to hear the island around you.
Food
Food is a big part of the experience.
Expect fresh, colourful Thai dishes, relaxed breakfasts, local lunches and dinners shared together overlooking the sea.
Some lunches are included as part of our adventure days, while at other times there is freedom to explore and choose what you fancy.
Vegetarian options are available, and vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free requirements can be catered for when arranged with us in advance.
What’s Included
7 nights’ accommodation

Scheduled transfers between Phuket and Koh Yao Noi

Retreat Reflections
-
Lou
My journey with Freedom Yoga began with the words, “I want to do what you do.” Through Jackie’s teaching and my 200-hour YTT, I was held through both darkness and light, supported in ways I didn’t yet understand. Her retreats offer a rare space of deep rest, safety, and renewal. Jackie’s teaching has been truly life-changing.
-
Angela
I joined Jax on her yoga retreat in Thailand (my third retreat with her) and it was truly special. Jax anticipated every comfort while thoughtfully arranging activities that immersed us in local, environmentally kind ways of living. Rustic and humbling, the experience challenged Western ideals, brought us closer to ourselves, and allowed us to meet ourselves fully.
-
Clare
Freedom Yoga Retreats has been a grounding, joyful and deeply nourishing experience, bringing a sense of ease and openness that allows real connection formed through movement, laughter, and meaningful conversation. Strangers quickly feel like friends. Jax & Sun Fyr offer me space to be fully myself—supported, cared for, and free—while feeling held by a warm, welcoming community.
-
Matt
Freedom yoga and retreats has given me life lasting memories of some of the most amazing destinations you could wish to visit . I’ve met some of the most incredible people and life long friends. Freedom retreats are like no other such wonderful experiences and truly incredible people. Thank you Jackie x
-
Jo
Yoga freedom retreats was the uplifting soul finding experience I needed.
Going through a divorce, looking to love me again…I was lost but the genuine love and support from everyone at freedom on the yoga retreats to Morocco and Thailand brought me the clarity and confidence I needed.
I’d recommend Jackie’s passion for yoga and awe inspiring energy to everyone.
-
Stewy
As a complete beginner to yoga I quickly understood there would be no judgement. I went into the retreat with an open heart, and this is what was returned to me. Jackie is a brilliant teacher and guide, and the Thai people were beautiful and welcoming. So, if you get the chance, GO!
-
Sarah
Freedom Yoga and Retreats (and Jackie) have genuinely helped me return to and rediscover myself. After two retreats in the last three years (Thailand and Greece) I’ve grown personally, developed my love of yoga, rekindled my love for adventure and travel, and leave feeling inspired, grounded and renewed. I wholeheartedly recommend her retreats.
-
Julie and Terry
Having been a keen yogi for many years I persuaded my husband (a complete novice to yoga) to join me on a Freedom Yoga Retreat in Thailand March 25. The retreat was a wonderful experience from the very start. Friendly people, two fabulous yoga teachers led to us returning home feeling relaxed and totally rejuvenated….. so much so that we are returning again in February ‘26.
-
Jo
I have been on 6 Freedom Yoga Retreats with Jax now and each has been truly memorable, for all the best reasons: a deepening knowledge and experience of yoga for sure but also meaningful and very enjoyable connections with the other retreaters, adventure, greater knowledge of and wonderful experiences in the beautiful and inspiring settings, lots and lots of fun, and always a very welcome disconnecting from life’s busy-ness and a reconnecting with myself. I cannot recommend them more highly.
-
Chris
I attended two Freedom Yoga and Retreats led by Jax, one in Thailand and one in Nepal. Both were unforgettable experiences! As my introduction to yoga, the retreats were welcoming, inspiring, and accessible. A perfect blend of practice, travel and community.
-
Anita
Jax has a warm and welcoming presence- she teaches from her heart with a vast knowledge of yoga, and insight into human nature which is very grounding and calming. My first retreat in Thailand has opened a new chapter for me and I can’t wait for the next one
-
Ruth
“A most unexpectedly enriching experience. I loved the accommodation, the yoga and Tai Chi, the food, and the daily rhythm. The excursions, the free day, kayaking and scooters — it genuinely blew my mind.
Independent travel built my confidence, and the group made it even richer. The guided yoga encouraged self-discovery through mindfulness, journalling and breathwork. Jackie’s enthusiasm is boundless. If you’re seeking adventure, inspiration and real connection — take the leap.”
-
Scher
I'm lucky enough to have been to two Freedom Yoga Retreats in Thailand, the first in 2023 changed my life by starting my yoga journey. Meeting locals, spending time in nature, incredible trips and experiencing my surroundings with mindfulness and curiosity taught me to be present. Thank you so much!
-
Archie
My time with Freedom Yoga is without a doubt one of the greatest weeks of my life. The Thai islands provide an idyllic backdrop for a week of practice, and there is plenty to explore and experience. The yoga is accessible yet thorough and varies throughout the week; there is time to reflect and release as well as time to energise and nourish. Freedom Yoga an opportunity to connect with likeminded people, and most importantly to connect with yourself. I will always cherish the memories of my week in Thailand.
-
Tina
I went on my first retreat to Thailand in 2025. From the moment we arrived we were looked after. From the yoga, the amazing food, trips out on kayaks and sailing on the traditional long boats to visit some of the smaller islands. The whole trip was amazing, and I cannot wait to go back next year.
-
Maggie
Community. Adventure. Loving yoga. Spectacular scenery. A retreat with a difference which can be felt and sensed. Just the break I needed to renew myself and reconnect with Nature and my Inner Being.
-
Tami
Thailand islands on a yoga retreat. Tai chi on the beach to welcome the sunrise to exceptional yoga teachings in a serene yoga shala. I didnt know a soul when I arrived and left with lifelong friends. A life changing experience. Thank you for your guidance, friendship and wisdom Jaxx. Am so looking forward to seeing you again in another beautiful location.
-
Yvonne
Magical! This was our first retreat and first trip to Thailand. The energy from Jax and Nicki ensured we immediately felt at home. It was spiritual of course, but kind and caring and we laughed a lot of the time. We felt like we were wrapped in a warm blanket that tickled sometimes. We smiled all the way home and knew we would come back.
-
Nic
Every now and then you find yourself in a space that wakes up a little place inside of you that changes forever.
For that I am truly grateful.
Each unique. Every one filled with connection, love, laughter and adventure.
Thank you Jaxx
-
Chloe
Although I have loved yoga for years, I wasn’t sure that retreats would be for me. I was wrong! Freedom Yoga Retreats are a wonderfully precious space for whatever you need them to be. I always leave them with peace, clarity and feeling a bit more like ‘me’ than before!
-
Jane
I have enjoyed weeks of yoga fun laughter making beautiful memories with soo many lovely people this year in Thailand and Nepal.
I am so excited for 2026 to experience travelling again with Jax @ freedom yoga.
I was so inspired by Jax that I am now doing my YTT
My mind and body feels alive again.
-
Karen
The whole experience was so much more than yoga, Jax has put her heart and soul into ensuring every moment delivers what you from challenging or restorative yoga, a time to pause or reflect, friendships and laughter, self-care, mindfulness and thought. Activities to make you feel at one with the jewels and culture of Thailand. freedom yoga released the best version of myself that had been mislaid on life’s journeys . I will certainly be doing another one (or two or three)
-
Samantha
I’ve been to Freedom Retreats in Nepal and Thailand. Both were so special. Each retreat met me where I was and changed me in different ways. They were healing and transformative. Jackie creates such a safe, supportive space that I always come away able to make real, lasting change.
-
Karen
After suddenly being widowed I needed some self care, so after only a few yoga sessions I flew to Thailand for a retreat with Freedom. Not knowing what to expect it was the best thing I could of done. It was like a relaxing, rejuvenating detox wrapped in a hug. I've made lifelong friends & have already booked my next one.
-
Luke
I struggle to think of a more serene, happy and awe inspiring time in my life than the Thailand retreat. Curated to perfection by a woman who cares so deeply about other people and their well-being. In an environment I couldn’t have even dreamed up. Truly a life affirming experience.

I discovered Jackie last July while searching for yoga training after two years of looking. From the moment I found her, I knew. Jackie is an exceptional teacher who creates a beautifully relaxed environment. I’m so grateful and excited to experience one of her breathtaking retreats next year. Highly recommended.
-
Jess
When deciding to do yoga teacher training, I was really anxious… so finding Jackie to learn from was a blessing. She is a beautiful person, who creates a space where everyone is welcome. Her warmth, knowledge and eloquent way of speaking makes learning with her an absolute dream. Through her YTT, she helped me find my voice, courage and also importantly, a wonderful friend and mentor.
-
Cath
What can I say…. Apart from amazing. Everything I wanted in a yoga teacher training, and more. For me it was important to learn the true essence of yoga… not just an asana or pranayama practice. Jackie teaches with heart, skill, professionalism, nurture, thoroughness, creativity and wisdom. An unforgettable journey, not only professionally but on a personal level too. Thank you so much.
-
Deb
Thailand reset my nervous system in the best way. Jaxx held the retreat with calm confidence, warmth, and real depth—every class felt safe, grounded, and quietly powerful. She saw people properly, met us where we were, and helped us go further than we thought possible, giving us the space to find our answers and make connections in so many ways.
-
Rowena
The timing was perfectly serendipitous when I bumped into Jax; having not practiced yoga with her since I was pregnant over 13 years ago, I'm now on her 200 hour yoga teacher training course.
I'm loving my training with Jax. Everyone relates to her, she is a true inspiration! Jax is knowledgeable, a realist and has core yogic values that drive us to be the best versions of ourselves.
-
Liane
Freedom Yoga Retreats has been a grounding, joyful and deeply nourishing experience, bringing a sense of ease and openness that allows real connection formed through movement, laughter, and meaningful conversation. Strangers quickly feel like friends. Jax & FYR offer me space to be fully myself—supported, cared for, and free—while feeling held by a warm, welcoming community.
-
Rae
I truly loved my yoga teacher training with Jackie. Yoga philosophy, historical texts, business skills, and practical understanding were taught clearly in a friendly, fun, and supportive way. The experience became a profound turning point in my life, shaping my path and leaving memories and lessons I will cherish forever.

Kasie
I couldn't have hoped for a more inspiring environment to begin my professional journey into yoga.
-
Dawn
I completed my yoga teacher training with Jax and then returned to complete my children's yoga teacher training. Jax's knowledge and passion for yoga are infectious. Her magic spark that she shares so freely makes you believe that you can succeed in anything! I loved being part of the powerful community she built during our training. Can't recommend enough!
-
Chelsie
This training was truly transformative, inspiring, and full of joy. It felt community-driven, empowering, and deeply supportive. Jackie is an incredible teacher - guiding with wisdom, care, and heart. By the end, she and my peers felt like family.

Yoga Teacher Training with Jackie at Freedom Yoga and Retreats was a truly transformative experience.
Her depth of knowledge, grounded wisdom and authentic presence created a learning environment that felt both empowering and deeply supportive.
Jackie doesn't just teach Yoga, she embodies it, weaving philosophy, anatomy and mindfulness into every session with clarity and compassion.
I feel incredibly grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend her teacher training to anyone seeking an inspiring and heart-centered path into Yoga.
-
Rose
Finding Freedom yoga was a pivotal moment for me. Doing my YTT was a dream I had for a long time, but never found the right time or the right training. I like to think Freedom Yoga found me as much as I found it, and along with it the most incredible teacher I could wish for. Jackie pours her heart into her teachings, making the course deeply meaningful. It was life changing for me. I loved being apart of this community, we built strong connections because Jackie leads with an open heart, when you’re shown vulnerability it makes it safe to be vulnerable too. I loved every part of my training.
-

Freedom Yoga and Retreats represented by Jackie taught me the basics of yoga. I have gone through the journey of completing my Yoga Teacher Training with Jackie, where I learned yoga philosophy, postures (asanas), physiology and safe teaching of all of this to wonderful people wanting to feel the benefits of yoga. Jackie has made the whole experience into a great journey with laughter, conversation, easy to access and clear information and wholesome communication. Time flew by! It has really been an experience of a lifetime and I wish I could do it again! Thank you Jackie!!

Attending Jax’s yoga classes for the first time earlier this year I was immediately struck by her warmth, depth of knowledge and ability to communicate the deeper aspects of yoga along with the asanas in an engaging and unique way. I am now on her Yoga Teacher Training course.
